Breathtaking Details - Chilly Spring Wedding at the Pine Knot

The wedding that opened our 2021 wedding season - Maddie and Reed's wedding day was stuffed to the gills with tons of fun and even more gorgeousness. The Pine Knot in Caneyville, Kentucky has been on the blog a couple times - you can check more of this charming barn venue out here and here! Like most weddings, we started out coverage with shooting the details and dresses and man, these details were STUNNING. The florals from For Myself were like something out of a dream and Maddie and Reed's stationary and rings made for my favorite flat lay of the year. We hopped outside onto one of the covered wraparound porches that make this venue so unique for the first look and Reed was absolutely gobsmacked by how totally GORGEOUS Maddie was in her wedding attire. We snapped a few formal photos and moved back inside to prepare for the ceremony.

This was the first wedding I've shot inside the barn at the Pine Knot and the second floor balcony really came in handy for hosting all the folks who came out to support Maddie and Reed on their wedding day.

We managed to snatch the last bit of daylight for these super sweet golden hour portraits before boogeying back into the barn to hit the reception highlights on the freshly cleared dancefloor. The beautiful cake was made by the bride's sister and it tasted as good as it looked! The first dance was tender and sweet and I've never seen a parent dance that wasn't a tearjerker. A quick outfit change before a GORGEOUS sparkler exit and that was the end of our day!

Not only was this our first wedding of the year, but it was also our first ever wedding video! Having a united team for all the imaging services was a new experience for me and it was so much fun and SO efficient it cemented our expansion into video, which you'll see more of later this year!
